The Eddy Currents is an instrumental funk trio based in Warner Robins, GA. Genre influences include jazz, rock, jam, fusion, and of course, funk. The band strives for a unique sound that is very groove driven, which combines frenzied solos with tight changes. The use of the guitar-organ, by guitarist Brandon Fickler, promotes a character not often heard. Produced from the mid 1960's to 70's, the guitar-organ allows Brandon to perform both guitar and vintage organ sounds, often simultaneously. Bassist Brett Taylor, who was originally trained as a drummer, brings a strong rhythmic groove and lays the foundation for this sophisticated funk. Brad Fickler keeps the rhythm fresh with his original, and often busy, style of drumming. The Eddy Currents can be seen going from gig to gig in Brandon's '75 Chevy G10. If you see the "Fat Van" parked outside a club, you know where to go!
